1st Shift Security Supervisor Security Supervisor Employment Type: Full-Time | Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM | Pay Rate: $25.55/hour | Pay Basis: Hourly | FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Position SummaryThe Shift Supervisor oversees daily security operations during the assigned shift, ensuring officer performance, site safety, and client service meet company standards. This on-site leader guides officers, links staff and management, and helps coordinate schedules and resolve issues. This position is a Safety Sensitive Function under Company policy. Minimum Qualifications Must have a BSIS Guard Card Minimum age 25 years Able to stand and walk for extended periods Valid driver's license and approved MVR Customer service experience and professional approach Must pass background check and drug screen Duties & Responsibilities Conduct foot and vehicle patrols; identify and report safety concerns Monitor access points, verifying IDs and credentials Monitor CCTV, alarms, and electronic security systems Respond to alarms and incidents per protocol; coordinate with law enforcement when needed Lead on-site incident response until management/law enforcement arrives Maintain accurate logs; review officer reports for accuracy Write clear, timely incident reports; communicate by radio, phone, in person Enforce Post Instructions and Company/client policies (smoking, loitering, parking) Maintain professional appearance; ensure officers do the same Supervisory Responsibilities Guide and direct officers during the shift Monitor performance; provide coaching and feedback Assist with scheduling, shift coverage, and post assignments Help train new officers on post orders and procedures Serve as point of escalation for officer and client concerns Communicate shift updates and staffing issues to management Required Skills & AbilitiesMinimum: Perform well in fast-paced, high-pressure environments Available for weekend, holiday, and rotating shifts as scheduled Strong situational awareness and attention to detail Sound judgment and de-escalation skills Basic computer/tablet skills for reporting Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to lead and direct others Preferred: Prior supervisory or lead experience in security, military, or law enforcement Education & ExperienceMinimum: High School Diploma or equivalent 1+ years verifiable Military, Law Enforcement, or Security experience Preferred: 3+ years verifiable Military, Law Enforcement, or Security experience 3+ years verifiable Supervisory experience Minimum Physical Requirements Stand at least 1 hour without break Sit at least 1 hour without break Walk at least ½ mile without stopping Climb at least 20 commercial facility stairs without stopping California Fair Chance Notice: Qualified applicants with criminal histories will be considered consistent with the California Fair Chance Act.
