A&P Mechanic With Inspection Authorization (IA)Located in Thomasville/York, PAPays $80,000-$95,000 yearly salaryThis role focuses on performing maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a wide range of general aviation aircraft within a Part 145 repair station environment. You will use your A&P license and active Inspection Authorization to troubleshoot issues, complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and ensure all work meets regulatory and safety standards.ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance, repairs, and inspections on general aviation aircraft, with a focus on piston aircraft engines.Conduct detailed inspections under Inspection Authorization, including 100-hour inspections and other required checks, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.Troubleshoot aircraft systems and components to identify mechanical and technical issues, and determine appropriate corrective actions.Carry out airframe and powerplant maintenance on aircraft such as Cirrus, Piper, Mooney, King Air, and other corporate aircraft.Work on a variety of engines, including Continental, Lycoming, and PT6 engines, performing repairs, adjustments, and component replacements as needed.Support heavy and phase maintenance tasks to maintain aircraft airworthiness and reliability.Document all maintenance and inspection activities accurately and thoroughly in accordance with Part 145 repair station procedures and aviation regulations.Use personal tools and shop equipment safely and effectively while maintaining a clean and organized work area.Collaborate with other technicians and team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of maintenance projects.Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, quality standards, and company policies while working in the hangar environment.Essential SkillsValid Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.Minimum 3+ years of experience performing maintenance on general aviation aircraft, specifically piston aircraft engines.Minimum 1+ years of experience as an active Inspection Authorization (IA) holder.Hands-on experience working in a Part 145 repair station environment.Experience maintaining and repairing Cirrus, Piper, Mooney, and King Air aircraft.Experience working on Continental, Lycoming, and PT6 engines.Strong troubleshooting skills for aircraft systems, engines, and components.Proficiency in performing inspections, including 100-hour inspections and phase maintenance.Ability to perform both airframe and powerplant maintenance in accordance with aviation regulations.Must provide and effectively use personal tools required for aircraft maintenance work.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with corporate aircraft maintenance is highly beneficial.Experience in heavy maintenance and complex repair tasks on general aviation aircraft.Familiarity with aircraft such as Cessna and Hawker is a plus.Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.Ability to interpret maintenance manuals, technical data, and regulatory guidance.Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a maintenance team.Strong organizational skills to manage documentation and maintenance records accurately.Why Work Here?Join a stable and growing aviation organization that is actively expanding its maintenance operations and investing in experienced A&P professionals.
