Overview In this role you will lead the commissioning activities for mission-critical data center construction projects in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, ensuring equipment performs to design and transition smoothly to operations. You will coordinate planning, safety, quality, and testing with internal teams and consultants to deliver compliant, reliable systems. The role combines technical validation with scheduling, risk analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to support 100% uptime objectives. This is a hands-on, impact-driven position at the core of project delivery. ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end commissioning and delivery for construction projects with a seamless handoff to operationsManage site-specific L1–L5 commissioning processes for new builds and expansionsOversee multi-discipline commissioning plans, including design review, installation checks, and reliability verificationCultivate collaboration with architects, engineers, trade partners, and operations to streamline deliveryIntegrate startup and commissioning schedules into the overall project timelineAnalyze schedules, provide monthly delay risk reporting, and develop optimization opportunitiesMonitor performance against schedule, partnering with PMs and contractors to drive improvementOversee RFP process for commissioning initiatives from creation to awardMaintain documentation and equipment databases; develop closeout packagesLead weekly punch-list meetings and drive issue resolution with vendors and partnersEstablish punch-list prevention plans and track deficiencies with the project teamCoordinate onboarding of new trade partners, vendors, and consultants for commissioningEnforce safety and on-site performance standards across commissioning teams and subcontractorsReview design documents against company standards and verify submittals from vendors/consultantsMonitor compliance of electrical, mechanical, fire alarm/protection, and controls subcontractorsContribute to design/construction reviews with cost-effective, schedule-efficient methodsParticipate in submittal reviews including start-up procedures and sequences of operations Key requirementsBachelor's degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent experience5+ years leading commissioning in mission-critical facilitiesAbility to interpret contract documents, owner requirements, drawings, specs, systems, and schedulesExperience developing and overseeing commissioning plans, scripts, and proceduresKnowledge of NETA guidelines and standardsThorough knowledge of mission-critical construction tech, equipment, materials, and methodsBroad MEP systems knowledge and construction processes across tradesExperience with Building Management Systems and environmental controlsExperience with access control and CCTV systemsExperience with construction cost forecasting, accruals, pay apps, and scheduling/planningProficiency with scheduling tools (Microsoft Project or Primavera P6) and DCMA 14 methodologyStrong communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Physical ability to navigate active construction sites and climb stairs/laddersstrong communicationcollaborationproblem-solvingBuilding Management Systems (BMS)environmental controlsElectrical Power Management Systems
