Position: Safety Manager
Location: Antioch, IL (Primary), with travel to Naperville, IL and Wheeling, IL
Role Overview: The Safety Manager will be based at the corporate headquarters in Antioch, IL, and will oversee safety operations across three facilities. This role involves leading and enhancing safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, and fostering a culture of safety and prevention.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Program Management: Develop, implement, and oversee safety programs including LOTO, Hazard Communication, Emergency Response, Fall Protection, and Hearing Conservation to ensure OSHA compliance.
Workers' Compensation Management: Oversee the workers' compensation loss control program, focusing on monitoring claims, reducing costs, and facilitating early return-to-work processes.
Accident Investigation: Investigate accidents, prepare reports, and identify countermeasures to prevent recurrence.
New Hire Orientation: Conduct orientation for new hires to emphasize the company’s safety expectations and regulations.
Safety Culture Promotion: Collaborate with operations teams to promote a proactive safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance.
Safety Committee Participation: Organize and participate in safety committee activities to drive safety initiatives.
Performance Monitoring: Maintain and review safety performance data, identify improvement opportunities, and implement preventative and corrective actions.
Safety Audits: Conduct internal safety audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Training and Testing Coordination: Ensure timely coordination of required testing and training, including industrial hygiene testing as assigned.
Travel: Travel to other locations as needed to conduct safety audits, with up to 25% travel primarily local.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
Experience: 8-10 years of relevant safety experience, preferably in a high-speed, high-volume manufacturing environment.
Certification: OSHA certification preferred.
Skills:
Ability to participate actively in team processes, influence team engagement, and drive decision-making.
Knowledge of current safety and loss control practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Travel: Ability to travel up to 25%, mostly local.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
