We buy, sell and deliver fresh, high quality protein products and other foods to over 6,000 retail and foodservice customers.Job PurposeThe Warehouse Receiver is responsible for loading and unloading trailers, receiving produce from outside carriers and company pickups, processing and returning product to inventory.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare dock for receivingClear dock area of debris and sweep if necessaryHave paperwork matched (P.O. and Bill of Lading) and ready for receivingHave pallets set up at doorsCount all products, check all dates, and scan all codes to verify that they are set up in the scanning systemSlot product if necessaryCheck temperature on each item off each carrier with probReport any shortage or rejections by noting on bills and a claim called into the vendor for claim numberVerify all counts and quality of product before signing carriers Bill of LadingsEnter all receiving data into the system and stamp purchase orders as receivedPull runs, second runs or will-call orders as neededInventory product as neededRepair/tape all broken boxes as neededDaily safety check of assigned warehouse equipmentRestock returned product dailyNotify supervisor of any product that must go into the freezerNotify supervisor of any injury's and/or damageMaintain the work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulationsQualifications and ExperienceThree or more years' experience working within refrigerated warehouse and/or distribution centerExcellent organizational skills and the ability to develop a collaborative teamAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and proceduresMust have experience working electric pallet jack and forklift and list at least 80 poundsAbility to function with minimal supervision and handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyAbility to work various lengths of time in cold environments including the freezerStrong written and verbal communication skillsHarvest-Sherwood is committed to offering competitive benefits to our employees and their dependents, including paid vacation, health insurances, and a 401K plan!*We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
