Instrumentation & Electrical TechnicianMemphis - Memphis, TN 38109OverviewPosition Type Full Time Travel Percentage Minimal Category ManufacturingDescriptionPOSITION OBJECTIVE: Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, instrumentation, and PLC of individual machinery or equipment as well as multiple equipment systems. KEY RESULT AREAS: PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: Operations • Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed equipment and associated instruments and controls. • Connect power supply wires to equipment and connect wiring from equipment to equipment or from equipment to instruments or controllers. • Research controls and instrumentation devices available to industry that provide the best solution to process needs. • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, drives, starters, and process instruments. • Replace/repair/calibrate faulty electrical and instrumentation components such as relays, switches, contactors, solenoids, photo eyes, flow meters, level and pressure indicators / transmitters, RTD's, etc. • Repair/replace faulty electronic components such as PCB's. • Troubleshoot PLC/DCS systems and associated apparatus by programming or editing programs and control loops. • Write PLC/DCS programs for new equipment or alterations of existing equipment. • Troubleshoot all aspects of 480V 3-phase electrical systems with or without schematics. • Troubleshoot, align and repair 4-20mA circuits • Read and troubleshoot using technical manuals, electrical diagrams, and PLC logic / DCS language. • Troubleshoot valve and pumping controls. • Set-up wiring for new valves to be put in service. • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Planning • Responsible for or assists in the planning layout of wiring installs, conduit runs, and electrical apparatus within plant operations. Human Resources • Comply with HR policies and procedures. • Comply with all relevant employment laws. Packaging • Knowledge of packaging equipment in a food manufacturing environment is preferred. Safety & Environmental • Knowledgeable of safe work practices including hot work and confined space permitting and LOTO. • Comply with all environmental plant policies and state and local regulations. Core Values Continuously exhibit and set the example for others in display of Company values: Customer Centric, Ambitious, Proactive, Innovative, Collaborative and Accountable.QualificationsA COMBINATION OF THE LISTED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE IS PREFERRED • Proficient with Windows based operating systems and software. • Allen-Bradley PLC's (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Flex I/O, MicroLogix, Panelview, RSView, SCADA systems, communications via ControlNet, DeviceNet, or Ethernet. • Programming/troubleshooting robots. • CMMS and TPM experience. • Licensed journeyman electrician WORKING CONDITIONS • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, and listen at the same time within a noisy manufacturing environment. • The employee is regularly required to stand or sit for long periods of time, climb stairs, use a ladder, balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. • Employee may use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, use tools, or manipulate equipment controls; reach with hands and arms. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works with moving mechanical parts; work in high places; in outside weather conditions; and with hazardous chemicals and vibration. • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and /or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The ability to perform in a noisy, humid, hot, cold and high-volume machine production environment. • The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision. • Visual depth perception and the ability to adjust focus is required.
