This role requires a creative who can think in 3D, translate ideas into real-world environments, and contribute across environmental, industrial, and graphic design projects.You’ll help shape branded experiences ranging from retail environments and pop-ups to live activations, events, fixtures, and immersive installations. One day may involve developing spatial concepts for a national brand launch, while the next could focus on designing custom retail display elements, translating brand systems into physical environments, or building presentation-ready 3D models and renderings.This is a hands-on creative role for someone who understands how brands come to life, in space. ResponsibilitiesDevelop creative concepts for branded environments, activations, pop-ups, retail displays, and experiential campaignsCreate environmental graphics, spatial layouts, fixture concepts, and physical brand momentsProduce 3D models, mockups, renderings, and presentation materials for internal reviews and client presentationsCollaborate closely with Creative Directors, Strategists, Producers, and Fabrication partnersTranslate brand guidelines into physical experiences and environmental systemsSupport projects from early ideation through production and installationPrepare files and documentation for fabrication, print production, and vendor handoffParticipate in brainstorms, design reviews, and creative presentationsBalance multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced agency environmentOccasional travelStay current on industry trends Understand and leverage cultural momentsHelp us continue to build our office culture in the PDX community.Do amazing work!Qualifications2-3 years of experience in experiential, environmental, retail, industrial, or spatial design (agency or in-house) Strong online portfolio demonstrating an understanding of designing for physical space and customer interaction (see additional info below)Fluency in 3D modeling software such as SketchUp (Rhino, Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar tools are a plus)Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesignAbility to communicate ideas through sketches, renderings, layouts, and presentationsUnderstanding of materials, fabrication methods, environmental graphics, and production processesStrong typography, composition, and visual storytelling skillsComfortable working across multiple design disciplines and shifting between 2D and 3D thinkingHighly collaborative with strong communication and organizational skillsPassion for culture, storytelling, retail, sports, entertainment, and immersive brand experiencesA self-starter who can own projects while collaborating across disciplinesBonus SkillsRendering experience using V-Ray, Enscape, KeyShot, or similar toolsMotion design or animation knowledgeFamiliarity with fabrication workflows and production constraintsAbility to art direct photography, styling, or installation details on-siteAny knowledge of Figma Portfolio RequirementsApplicants should submit a portfolio showcasing:Environmental and spatial design workExperiential activations or retail concepts3D modeling/rendering capabilitiesExamples of graphic systems applied in physical spaceProcess thinking from concept through executionAbout Propelis: Propelis is a portfolio of global marketing services and technology companies with a combined legacy of 150+ years, 2,000+ clients, 9,000 employees, and operations across 30 countries. The U.S. pay range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 USD annually.
