Electronics Test Engineer
A reputable manufacturing company located in Western Montana is expanding its team and is in search of a Test Engineer. With a strong track record spanning 40 years, this company has been producing high-quality precision products that have gained recognition nationwide. With a modern 40,000-square-foot facility, the company specializes in circuit board assemblies, cable and wire harnesses, and electromechanical builds for clients across commercial, industrial, and defense sectors.
This is a hands-on electronics/hardware testing role. Candidates must have experience working with physical electrical systems, test equipment, and/or manufacturing environments. This is not a software QA or automation testing position. The Test Engineer is a key contributor, bringing technical expertise to the planning, development, and execution of comprehensive tests that ensure projects meet performance goals and company standards.

Essential Functions and Duties:
Set up test environments, design test plans, and develop tests based on technical drawings, standards, and performance targets
Write test procedures, maintain revision and configuration controls, and provide training for technicians and operators
Evaluate, improve, and maintain existing tests, including repair and preventative maintenance on fixtures and equipment
Deliver technical support to the test department and ensure effective execution of testing processes
Recommend equipment and software purchases to management in support of testing needs
Prepare test labor estimates for project quotations and budget planning
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in an electrical discipline
Minimum 5 years of experience in electronics testing; 2 years in electronics design preferred
Proficiency in creating and interpreting electrical drawings using CAD software, with strong knowledge of advanced electronics
Experience in designing and building electrical interfacing for testing, with familiarity in ICT platforms (bed of nails, flying probe) preferred
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills within a manufacturing environment
Understanding of project lifecycles, cost vs. value decision-making, and general business/management principles
