Job Summary:The Painter is responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing parts, equipment, or facility surfaces to meet Trane’s quality, safety, and production standards. This role supports manufacturing operations by applying paint and protective coatings to HVAC components or maintaining facility appearance.
Responsibilities:
Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, or applying primer
Mix and apply paint, coatings, or finishes using spray guns, brushes, or rollers
Operate and maintain paint equipment, booths, and ventilation systems
Inspect finished work for quality, proper thickness, and appearance
Follow work orders, production schedules, and safety procedures
Maintain accurate records of materials used
Perform routine equipment cleaning and preventive maintenance
Handle and dispose of hazardous materials according to safety and environmental guidelines
Work collaboratively with production teams and supervisors
Follow all Trane safety policies, including PPE, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and 5S practices
Qualifications:
Experience in industrial painting, powder coating, or automotive painting preferred
Ability to read work instructions, paint specs, and safety data sheets (SDS)
Knowledge of spray equipment, finishing techniques, and coating processes
Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and work in a production environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work safely with chemicals and materials
High school diploma or equivalent typically required
Key Competencies:
Experience with powder coating or electrostatic painting
Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices
Basic mechanical aptitude
