General supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.This position:and#183; Represents the department in communications with elected officials and external stakeholders, including facilitating policy briefings or discussions with TDI subject matter experts.and#183; Supports Chief Deputy Commissioner and Associate Commissioner for Government Relations and other agency leadership in the coordination and preparation for industry activities and events including National Association of Insurance Commissioners meetings and related action items including delegation logistics for national meetings.and#183; Supports government relations activities including monitoring of legislation implementation (ongoing), coordinate and staff legislative staff briefings and hearings, creation of agency Strategic Plan, biennial legislative recommendations and monitoring of federal agency activities and leadership organizations efforts around insurance.and#183; Supports and coordinates the planning, development, implementation, and documentation of External Relations/Government Relations activities and key processes to include boards and committees, applications, and appointments.and#183; Prepares and coordinates meeting agendas, meeting notes, and agency activity reports on state and federal activities for the Commissioner and legislature to include archiving and records management.and#183; Conducts research and analysis for Commissioner and other agency executives in response to requests for information, includes coordinating with internal program staff as well as external working groups.and#183; Supports agency events including annual Meet the Regulator event.and#183; Travel is required up to 5% of the time. If travel is over 10%, you must maintain a state of Texas Driverand#8217;s License.and#183; Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications: This position requires:and#183; Graduation from an ac redited four-year college or university with major course work in business, accounting, finance or insurance.
