Assistant Professor - Dental Hygiene
ResponsibilitiesFaculty in this role provide classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction while mentoring and advising students throughout their academic journey. Responsibilities include developing engaging learning experiences, evaluating student performance, supporting accreditation and assessment efforts, supervising students in clinical settings, and contributing to curriculum development and program improvement. This position also plays an active role in recruitment, community partnerships, college service, and collaboration with adjunct and clinical faculty.QualificationsWe are looking for an enthusiastic educator and clinician who can connect with students, adapt to different learning styles, and foster confidence and critical thinking in future healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate values student success, stays current in the field, and embraces the mission of a comprehensive community college.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene and recent Dental Hygiene clinical experience required.Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of students, faculty, and staff from multi-cultural backgrounds.Required License and/or CertificationsMust possess an Idaho Registered Dental Hygiene License, or obtain within six months of hire.Membership in the American Dental Hygienists' Association and American Dental Education Association preferred.CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA) within 90 days of hire.Eligible to receive an Idaho post-secondary Career Technical Education (CTE) certificate.Must have a valid driver's license.LocationWork Site Location: Coeur d' Alene CampusScheduleThis tenure track position has summers off, with pay and benefits spread over 12 months!Other RequirementsEmployment is contingent upon successful completion of background check and proof of degree if required for this position.Vaccination PolicyNorth Idaho College does not have a vaccine requirement.
