We champion an inclusive culture and strive to attract and develop a talented workforce to create and deliver a wide range of content reflecting our world.Job DescriptionRole Purpose: NBCUniversal is seeking a Contracts Specialist to join the legal team that supports all aspects of original unscripted content production and licensing for NBC, Peacock, and Bravo and Universal Television Alternative Studio (UTAS). Working closely with the attorneys and administrative staff, the contracts specialist will provide support and assistance to the group’s legal counsel on a wide range of matters relating to the drafting, negotiation and oversight of production services, license and indemnity agreements, insurance, talent contracts, and production policies. Successful candidates will be attentive and detail oriented, and possess strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively. Here you can:Independently draft and review various form agreements and correspondence, for a range of contractual matters and clientsResearch, draft, and prepare memorandum and summaries on various contractual and legal provisions, rights and intellectual property mattersPartner with business executives and colleagues on cross-functional teams to act as a resource to others in the company, on matters relating to the divisionIdentify opportunities for increased efficiencies and collaboration within the division’s business and legal affairs teamsDevelop policies, procedures, and best practices across the divisionsImplement improvements to forms and processesMaintain and update internal resources and document workspacesQualificationsHere you'll need:2+ years of experience, preferably with experience in business affairs and/or legal affairs department at a major studio or production companyExtensive experience in contract management, data entry and document assemblyProficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Outlook, Excel, and Word) and experience in document management applicationsDesired Characteristics:Strong academic credentials, including Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal CertificateAn understanding of, and demonstrated familiarity with, the contracting practices related to the entertainment industry and intellectual property Database and contract management experienceFamiliarity with AI-assisted technology and experience using AI tools to improve efficiency and streamline contract workflows. Ability to exercise discretion with sensitive informationFlexibility and adaptability to manage multiple, wide-ranging matters, conflicting deadlines, and new areas of expertise as business needs changeOutstanding analytic, communication and organizational skills, including excellent drafting and negotiation skills and an attention to detailAbility to effectively and concisely communicate with constituencies both inside and outside the legal functionAbility to work independently based on general guidance and experienceAbility to handle multiple simultaneous assignments in a fast-paced environmentPossess a proactive, collaborative, and team-oriented approachHybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week.
