Credit Card Portfolio Manager

Position Overview:The Credit Card Portfolio Manager is responsible for the daily management, oversight, and strategic governance of the organization's corporate credit card program, which comprises over 700 active cards across multiple departments and locations. This role ensures compliance with internal policies, mitigates financial and operational risks, and partners closely with internal stakeholders and external credit card providers to maintain an effective, secure, and responsive card program.Responsibilities of the Credit Card Portfolio Manager: Program Administration: Oversee the full lifecycle of 700+ corporate credit cards, including issuance, activation, credit limit adjustments, renewals, cancellations, and account maintenance. Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and the financial institution providing the corporate credit card program. Maintain accurate records of cardholders, spending limits, and card statuses in accordance with internal controls. Manage intake, processing, and documentation of all new card requests, changes, and exceptions. Risk Management & Compliance: Monitor cardholder activity for potential fraud, misuse, or policy violations, and escalate concerns to Finance leadership and/or HR as necessary. Conduct routine audits of card transactions to ensure adherence to internal policies, IRS guidelines, and client-specific recommendations. Partner with Internal Audit, AP, and Finance leadership to design and enforce strong internal controls that reduce financial risk. Ensure timely deactivation of cards for departing employees or when business needs change. Policy Governance: Administer and update the Corporate Credit Card Policy based on evolving business needs, client recommendations, audit findings, and industry best practices. Communicate policy updates to all cardholders; develop clear guidance, job aids, and FAQ materials to support compliance. Educate and train employees and managers on the policy, card usage expectations, receipt requirements, and expense reporting procedures. Reporting & Analytics: Prepare recurring monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on card activity, usage trends, risk indicators, and compliance metrics. Compile and distribute delinquency reports; work proactively with cardholders to resolve outstanding issues. Track and report program KPIs, including policy adherence, card utilization, and exception management. Operational Support: Assist cardholders with troubleshooting issues related to declined transactions, disputes, fraud claims, and system access. Support the Accounts Payable team with credit card reconciliations, statement processing, and integration with the expense management platform. Manage vendor relationships with banks, card issuers, and expense software providers.Required Experience/Skills for the Credit Card Portfolio Manager: 3 - 5 years of experience in corporate credit card program administration, accounts payable, expense management, or financial operations. Strong understanding of internal controls, compliance frameworks, and risk mitigation practices. High proficiency with expense management systems (e.g., Concur, SAP, Workday, Coupa, Expensify). Advanced Excel and reporting skills. Experience administering large-scale credit card programs (500+ cards). Background in audit, fraud prevention, or compliance. Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
