Job Description
Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.An opportunity is available for a registered nurse (RN) experienced in med-surg and progressive care to work in a versatile 25-bed critical access hospital setting. This contract role requires an active Washington RN license with stepdown/PCU expertise and flexibility to support various departments as needed.Responsibilities include:Delivering comprehensive patient education tailored to individual needs using appropriate teaching methods.Ensuring patient safety through preventive measures such as proper use of side rails, restraints (in accordance with policy), and safe equipment operation.Demonstrating proficiency with med-surg, telemetry, and PCU equipment, including troubleshooting and accessing manuals as necessary.Applying infection control and isolation protocols diligently and utilizing standard precautions at all times.Maintaining thorough, accurate documentation related to patient status, interventions, and responses during each shift.Accurately documenting charge details and efficiently completing physician orders, including 24-hour order checks when assigned.Providing comprehensive change-of-shift reports to incoming staff and effective communication with interdisciplinary team members.Promptly reporting critical laboratory values to physicians according to hospital policy.Restocking emergency carts and supplies in patient rooms and general areas.Performing additional duties as assigned to support facility operations.Location Overview:Situated in a scenic area of Washington, this community-oriented healthcare setting offers a peaceful working environment with proximity to outdoor recreational activities.
