The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Vendor Management Specialist for a prominent client of ours. This position is remote (local to 60064) . Details for the position are as follows:Vendor Management Specialist (Vendor Onboarding) – W2 Contract Location: Remote (Optional onsite at local office)Duration: 12-month contract with potential to extend or convert based on performance and budgetPay Rate: $40–$48/hour (W2)Overview We are seeking a highly organized and communication-driven Vendor Management Specialist to support the end-to-end lifecycle of third‑party vendors, with a strong emphasis on vendor onboarding. This role involves working across multiple departments and managing a high volume of detailed documentation, ensuring vendors meet all internal quality and compliance requirements.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, process‑heavy environment and is comfortable navigating complex forms and stakeholder communication at all levels, including senior leadership.Important NotesRole is remote, but candidates may choose to work onsite at a local officeEquipment must be picked up onsite (laptop cannot be shipped)Focus is on non‑product vendors (no direct consumer impact)Heavy documentation environment, including extensive quality questionnaires (up to ~25 pages, 40 questions per page)Key ResponsibilitiesVendor OnboardingManage the onboarding process for new vendors from initiation through activationCoordinate collection and review of required documentation (compliance forms, tax forms, insurance, etc.)Guide vendors and internal stakeholders through complex onboarding requirementsSupport completion of large‑scale quality questionnaires required by internal quality teamsPartner with Quality and IT teams to ensure documentation is reviewed and approvedMaintain accurate vendor records and ensure compliance with internal policiesVendor OffboardingCoordinate structured offboarding activities, including documentation and account closureEnsure completion of contractual and operational requirementsPartner with internal teams to revoke access and finalize vendor recordsAssist with financial reconciliation and outstanding itemsVendor Lifecycle ManagementMaintain vendor data and documentation repositoriesTrack onboarding progress, compliance status, and deadlinesSupport audits and reporting needsIdentify process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce riskTop Skills RequiredExceptional communication skills (must be comfortable working with VP and Director‑level stakeholders)Strong professionalism and ability to manage high‑visibility interactionsProven ability to handle large volumes of detailed documentationRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree required2–5 years of experience in:Vendor managementVendor onboardingProcurement or third‑party risk managementDemonstrated experience in communication-heavy roles with cross‑functional stakeholdersExperience working in documentation-heavy environmentsPreferred BackgroundExperience in industries with heavy documentation requirements (e.g., mortgage, financial services, regulated environments)Familiarity with vendor management or ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Coupa, etc.)Experience supporting compliance or quality-driven processesKey CompetenciesDetail-oriented with strong organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple workflows and deadlinesStrong problem-solving and process improvement mindsetHigh level of accountability and ownershipIdeal Candidate ProfileHas worked in vendor management or vendor onboarding rolesComfortable being “in the weeds” with extensive forms and documentationAble to clearly explain complex requirements to a wide range of stakeholdersThrives in structured, process-driven environments with high expectations for accuracyBy applying for this job, you agree to receive calls, AI-generated calls, text messages, or emails from this organization and its affiliates, and contracted partners.
