Radiology Image Library Associate

divh2Entry Level Radiology Image Library Associate/h2pThe Entry Level Radiology Image Library Associate is a key component to the Radiology Department. They are instrumental in the patient experience and helping the Radiologist maintain a smooth and efficient workflow./ppIn this role, you will work closely with patients, doctors, and other hospital staff, both inside and outside of the hospital system. You will gain experience in numerous healthcare related technologies such as the EHR (Electronic Health Record) System and PACS (Picture Archive and Communication System)./ppstrongJob Responsibilities:/strong/ppPatient Experience/pulliGreeting and checking-in patients arriving for medical imaging procedures/liliTake phone calls from patients requesting imaging records/liulliPrepare the requests for pick-up or mail-out/li/ulliEnsure all forms required for release of medical records are completed before releasing imaging records/liliUpload medical imaging studies performed at outside healthcare facilities for patients/liulliCreate required orders in the EHR system/li/ul/ulpRadiology Image Library:/pulliTriage phone calls to the reading room/liliReport critical results to appropriate providers/liulliComplete communication within the appropriate SLA (Service Level Agreement)/liliDocument the communication in the appropriate systems/li/ulliManage the Follow-up worklist/liulliContact providers regarding exams that have follow-ups due in the given time frame/liliDocument the communication in the appropriate systems/liliTrack the resolution of the follow-ups/li/ulliManage patient worklists for treatment and educational conferences/liulliLoad patient images appropriate groups for weekly patient review conferences/li/ul/ulpRadiology Support Staff:/pulliImport images and reports from outside healthcare providers/liliTransfer images and reports to other healthcare providers/liulliEnsure proper documentation is received for release of images and record in patients chart/li/ulliAssist with legal requests/liliDe-identify imaging for research studies/liliMonitor work queues for failed automated faxes communicating results reports/liulliContact provider for correct fax number and resend fax/liliDocument communication/liliOpen ticket to have fax number updated/li/ul/ulpTeamwork:/pulliBuild positive relationships with colleagues/liliCoach and/or mentor peers, formally or informally/liliAssist others in acquiring department specific knowledge, skills, and abilities/li/ulpstrongRequired Skills:/strong/pulliGood verbal and communication skills; accurate documentation skills; ability to read and correctly pronounce medical terminology; must have excellent phone etiquette./liliMust have good computer skills to understand, navigate, and enter data on multiple IT systems and Radiology-centric systems./liliMust be able to multitask and handle acute, stressful and busy periods.
