With an industry-leading pipeline of projects, strong financial positioning, and talented employees, we look forward to our bright future!Job DescriptionThe Controls Systems Programmer is responsible for supporting and optimizing automation and control systems across the CC&V fixed plant, including crushing circuits, ADR processing facilities, remote pumping systems, and solution treatment operations. This position plays a critical role in maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations by providing advanced troubleshooting, programming, and continuous improvement of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.Day To DayYour role will consist of:Troubleshooting and supporting PLC, HMI, SCADA, and instrumentation systems across the fixed plant.Developing, modifying, and maintaining control logic (Rockwell-based systems)Supporting crushing, ADR, pumping, and solution treatment systemsAssisting with installation, commissioning, and upgrades of control systemsPerforming system analysis and implementing process improvementsMaintaining accurate documentation and program revisionsCollaborating with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teamsProviding after-hours troubleshooting support, including remote accessTraining maintenance personnel on controls systems operation and troubleshootingCreating, managing, and closing work orders within SAP, ensuring accurate documentation of work performed, parts usage, and labor tracking.Supporting planning and scheduling efforts, including providing input on job scopes, critical spares, and maintenance strategiesPromoting safe work practices in alignment with MSHA and SSR Mining standardsProject ManagementSupport execution of controls-related capital and sustaining projectsAssist with scope development, commissioning, and system integrationCoordinate with vendors and contractorsMaintain proper change management and documentation controlOptimization and LeadershipIdentify and implement process control improvementsLead troubleshooting during critical plant upsetsServe as a technical resource for E&I techniciansDemonstrate mindfulness toward system impacts and operational priorities when making programming or process changesShow willingness to assist with budgeting activities, including project cost estimates, tracking, and justification supportIs This You??Minimum 5+ years of industrial controls experienceStrong experience with Rockwell Automation systems (ControlLogix, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk, PanelView)Knowledge of industrial networks and communicationsStrong understanding of electrical systems, VFDs, and instrumentationProven ability to troubleshoot complex systems with limited documentationExperience using SAP (or similar CMMS) for work order management, including:Creating and closing work ordersDocumenting labor, materials, and findingsSupporting maintenance planning and trackingStrong communication and teamwork skillsExperience in gold processing operations (ADR, heap leach, solution treatment)Familiarity with PI Historian, FactoryTalk Historian, or AssetCentreExperience with remote pumping and telemetry systemsMaintenance background in mining or heavy industryAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.Demonstrated financial awareness and willingness to contribute to budgeting and cost control effortsWorking Conditions & Location:Environment: This role involves working in both office and field environments, including outdoor work at mine sites with exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.Location: The Cripple Creek & Victor (CC&V) Mine site is located at elevations ranging from approximately 9,400 ft. to 10,600 ft. above sea level.Schedule: M-Th, 10hrs / dayPhysical Demands: The role may require walking on uneven terrain, climbing ladders, and working at heights or in confined spaces.The summary provided is a basic outline of duties for the Controls Systems Programmer and is not all-inclusive.
