Staff Presales Technical Engineer/FAE Job location is flexible. Anywhere USAJob Summary: The Staff Field Application Engineer (FAE) will be part of a growing, dynamic, highly-focused team responsible for developing new or existing opportunities in the global IT market. The FAE will be required to work with customers from ground to executive-level, manage projects hand in hand with internal and external teams, and help grow the business whenever possible. Customer and solution focus, are two key factors for this position, as well as business continuity and support. The FAE must work with multiple departments to ensure new projects and existing projects are initiated or maintained towards customer requirements.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):Recruits, leads and mentors team of FAE's in support of revenue growth at all assigned accountsSolution architect and presentation skills to help expand Fortune1000 account penetration and loyaltyWorks closely with the sales and extended teams to map end-user customer business, partner requirements and provide most optimized technical solutionsProvides technical leadership in Pre-Sales and oversee implementation of such solutionsEffectively engage with C-level technical customers, gain and maintain trustHighly technical problem solver who understands datacenter solutions, system architecture, hardware and software interactionShould possess proven HW and SW debug skills, preferably at the solution levelManage and leads product HW and SW engineers during product developmentManage and leads teams during investigation and resolution of problems in the fieldHas a good understanding of firmware, drivers, OS, Applications and their interaction that can cause system issuesDevelop and review datacenter systems solutions, technical bid responses and presentationsWork cross-department to ensure customer satisfaction and timely resolution of issuesAbility to build and demonstrate proof-of-concept that meets or exceeds customer business needsAbility to present the corporate brand, product messaging and solutions to customersVisit on-site facilities and operations to enable solution integration and issue resolutionSome travel required (up to 25%)Qualifications:Bachelors' or Masters' degree in engineering discipline; computer science, computer engineering and electrical engineering preferredExcellent communication skills and business sense requiredMinimum 12 year related experience with Compute/Storage Server or Data Center or IT Infrastructure experience desiredExperience in Datacenter deployment projects, buildouts and/or optimizing thermal and power designsStrong background and experience with GPU based server/cluster architectureSolid HW/SW system expertise and diagnostics skillsFamiliarity with Firmware, Linux, Windows and virtualization platforms is a plusStrong technical communication and leadership skills to lead investigations with engineers of multiple disciplinesIndividual must be able to work effectively in a high pressure environmentHighly desirable: Experience supporting high-density GPU clusters and AI infrastructure deployments (50kW–300kW rack environments)Strong understanding of data center power architecture, including 3-phase power distribution, busway systems, rack power shelves, and redundancy models (N+1 / N+N)Working knowledge of liquid cooling technologies, including Direct-to-Chip (DLC), Rear Door Heat Exchangers (RDHx), and Coolant Distribution Units (CDU)Ability to collaborate with data center facility teams (electrical and mechanical engineers) to support infrastructure readiness for AI clustersExperience reviewing or contributing to data center infrastructure design, including rack layouts, thermal planning, and power capacity requirementsSalary Range $160,000 - $190,000 The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role.
