Analytics Engineer (Remote)

An employer is seeking an Analytics Engineer to join their data organization. This individual will play a key role in transforming curated data into clear, consistent, and analytics-ready data models that support reporting, dashboards, and decision-making across the business. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders, owning the semantic layer and ensuring metrics are trusted, well-defined, and easy to use.The ideal candidate is highly skilled in SQL-based transformations, understands dimensional modeling best practices, and partners closely with cross-functional teams to deliver intuitive, high-quality analytics assets that enable self-service insights and operational decision-making.ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain analytics-ready data models, including facts, dimensions, and data martsDevelop and manage SQL-based transformations within the semantic and analytics layerOwn and maintain metrics, business logic, and calculations to ensure consistency across dashboards and reportsApply dimensional modeling best practices optimized for BI and analytical consumptionPartner closely with product, operations, finance, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into well-defined metrics and modelsAct as a steward of business logic by ensuring metric definitions are documented, aligned, and standardizedProactively identify gaps or inconsistencies in metrics and drive alignment across teamsOptimize analytics models for clarity, usability, and performance for downstream consumersSupport analysts and BI developers by enabling faster, more reliable dashboard and reporting developmentImplement data quality checks and testing at the analytics layerContribute to analytics engineering standards, conventions, and documentationCollaborate with data engineering teams to improve source data readiness for analyticsWe are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Required Skills & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent experience)2+ years of experience in analytics engineering, analytics, business intelligence, or a related roleAdvanced SQL skills with experience building complex, maintainable transformationsHands-on experience with analytics engineering and semantic-layer toolingStrong understanding of dimensional modeling, metrics design, and semantic layer conceptsExperience supporting BI tools and downstream analytics use cases (dashboards, reporting, ad-hoc analysis)Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersExperience in healthcare-related operations and familiarity with industry terminology Nice to Have Skills & ExperienceExperience enabling self-service analytics at scaleExposure to data quality frameworks or analytics testing practicesPrior work supporting operational or financial reporting use cases Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
