In this position, you will advise researchers, develop workflows, implement new technologies, and keep daily operations running seamlessly as part of a service team. GRI currently consists of an experienced team of sequencing and bioinformatics specialists. You will join a highly collaborative, enthusiastic and ambitious working environment, located in a newly renovated laboratory and equipped with state‑of‑the‑art technology.GRI is part of CCF, a new and vibrant technology hub dedicated to providing excellent services, comprehensive training and technological expertise to users across UCPH and the wider Copenhagen research landscape. CCF strengthens the research community by ensuring transparent access to high‑end instrumentation, fostering strong links to cutting‑edge research environments, and continuously advancing shared technological capabilities.Job DescriptionAs Sequencing Specialist, you will play a central role in delivering high‑quality genomics services, supporting users, and developing new applications. Your responsibilities will include:Ensuring smooth day‑to‑day sequencing operations and workflowsProviding user consultations, onboarding, project planning and troubleshootingTraining users in methods, equipment and best laboratory practicesSupporting and guiding researchers in the laboratoryManaging platform logistics: ordering, stocking and maintaining consumablesLeading implementation and integration of new genomics methods, applications, technologies and workflowsYour profilePhD in biotechnology, molecular biology or a related biological/biomedical disciplineBroad expertise in functional genomics and sequencing technologies is requiredHands-on experiences with diverse sequencing sample preparation methods and applications (e.g. RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, HiC, scRNA-seq, CRISPR, etc.)Track record of scientific achievements such as publications in peer-reviewed journalsStrong motivation for testing, evaluating and implementing new methodsCommitment to standardizing and optimizing workflowsTeam-oriented and service-oriented mindsetResponsible, highly organized and adaptable, with the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environmentExcellent spoken and written EnglishBasic bioinformatics knowledge is an advantageEmployment conditionsThe employment is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 2 years, and is scheduled to start 15 August 2026 or upon agreement with the chosen candidate. The place of work is at CCF, SUND, University of Copenhagen, Blegdamsvej 3B, Copenhagen.Employment will be as Academic Research Officer or Academic Research Consultant in accordance with the Circular on the Collective Agreement concerning Academics in the state sector concluded between the Danish Ministry of Finance and Akademikerne (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations), with a possibility to negotiate supplements due to qualifications and experience.
