What You'll Do as a Machine Operator: Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches of part to determine operating requirementsMount work piece between center in chuck or in colletPress buttons, toggles, and start machining operationObserve displays on control panel and compares with data on process sheet to verify dimensional adjustmentsPerform spot checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications per instruction on in-processOperate an additional machine during computer-controlled machining cyclesMachine metallic and nonmetallic materialsMark and/or tag nonconforming material and place them in nonconforming hold designated areasTag and/or mark completed material and move product to appropriate areasWatch and check coolant fluid levels during machine operationWhat You Need to Bring to the Machine Operator Role: High school diploma or GED + 1–3 months of related experience and/or on the job training, or equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to read and comprehend blueprints and instructions, short correspondence, and memosAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organizationAbility to add and subtract two-digit numbers, and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100'sAbility to apply common sense to carry out simple one- or two-step instructionsAbility to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variablesAbility to lift 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodationsWhy You'll Like Working with Doherty Staffing SolutionsEnjoy weekly pay , access to health coverage options through Benefits in a Card (including preventative and minimum value plans), and temp-to-hire opportunities for long-term stability where applicable.
