W2 ContractRemote - but must be able to drive to Jackson, MI on occasion $30/hrAbout The RoleWe are seeking an Instructional Designer with strong foundational ID skills and hands-on video production experience to support training across a utilities environment. This role is ideal for an early-career instructional designer (2–3 years of experience) who is equally comfortable designing learning experiences and getting behind the camera to produce engaging, high-quality video-based training.Video Production (Pre-Production, Production & Post-Production)Lead video pre-production activities, including:Writing video scripts and interview questionsCreating shot lists and production plansCoordinating schedules, locations, and SMEsSet up and conduct video shoots, including:Camera, lighting, and basic audio setupCoaching on-screen participants as neededPerform post-production editing, including:Syncing audio and videoTrimming and cutting footageAdding titles, lower thirds, callouts, and simple animated elementsIncorporating graphics, screen recordings, or motion elements as appropriateOptimize videos for different delivery platforms (LMS, intranet, mobile, etc.)Follow brand, style, and quality standards for all video assetsCore Instructional Design SkillsApply instructional design principles and adult learning theory to create effective, engaging learning solutionsPartner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to analyze learning needs and translate complex utility concepts into clear, learner-centered contentDesign and develop training deliverables, including:Instructor-led and virtual instructor-led training (ILT/VILT)E-learning modulesMicrolearning assetsVideo-based learning solutionsCreate storyboards, scripts, and learning outlines aligned to performance objectivesMaintain and update existing learning materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and relevanceEnsure learning solutions meet accessibility, usability, and quality standards#INDPRO
