Job description: Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Optician to join our Optical department and sales team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality optical services while assisting with the selection and sales of eyewear and all optical items; Preparation and fitting of eyewear daily, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This position requires a strong understanding of Optometry and Optical sales, strong computer skills, the ability to work effectively in a busy environment with a strong desire to provide excellent service and products to our patient base. Responsibilities Selection and sales of eyewear for patients Vision insurance verification and plan application skills required Assist in the preparation and fitting of eyewear for patients, ensuring proper measurements and adjustments. Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care Operate optical equipment and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal functionality. Reconciliation and reporting to management Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns regarding eyewear options and payments Collecting payments from patients for services and materials Stay informed about new technologies and advancements in optical care to enhance service delivery. Qualifications Understanding of retail environment with previous optical experience a plus. Familiarity with electronic health record systems. Experience in sales or customer service within a healthcare setting is an advantage. Knowledge of medical records management, coding, and billing practices is beneficial Electronic Medical Record efficiency, strong computer experience Inventory management and reporting capabilities Excellent time management skills Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a patient-centered focus. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and staff. A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
