CNC Programmer

Job Title: CNC Programmer 3 (Mills/ Lathes) Pay Rate: $48 to $52/HR Duration: 12 months Location: Chandler, Arizona We are looking for a CNC Programmer 3 (Mills/ Lathes) Develop programs for machining parts, tools, or sheet metal on numerically controlled machines, such as a mill and lathe. Makes proper cutter selections for each part, taking into consideration such factors as speeds, types of cutters, feeds, and control system limitations. Select program routines for the most efficient computer calculation of dimensional and machining requirements for each part. Tests and modifies existing parts programs for engineering changes or program improvements. Supports design and manufacture of hardware in a machine shop setting through the use of CNC and manual manufacturing tooling. Responsibilities include the manufacture of hardware, training of less experienced personnel, adherence and enforcement of safety standards, and skillset progression through training. Develops and writes programs for numerically controlled machines using engineering specifications and drawings. Analyze engineering drawings to define the configuration of parts and determine the type and sequence of machine operations. Requirements: Programming experience - NX CAM preferred, 5+ years of programming experience Multi-axis, live-tool lathe 5-axis mill 3-axis mill Machine setup and operation experience (5+ years preferred): Multi-axis, live-tool lathe (Mori-Seiki) 5-axis mill (Haas) 3-axis mill (Haas) Manual mill, band saws, etc. Willingness and openness to training individuals on the team to program and operate CNC machines Individuals to be trained may have less than 1-year experience Ability to communicate well with others Active listening Be present in the conversation Empathize with others Able to separate yourself from personal expectations of others Able to be objective and non-judgmental Able to freely provide machining suggestions and best practices Be open and accepting of suggestions not being implemented Preferred Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in programming, setup, and operation of CNC mills and lathes Past mentorship or leadership experience Experience improving manufacturing and shop processes for efficiency gains Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: $48.00 - $52.00 per hour Application Question(s): please provide an alternate email Experience: programming, setup, and operation of CNC mills and lathes: 10 years (Required) NX CAM programming: 10 years (Required) Multi-axis, live-tool lathe: 10 years (Required) 5-axis mill/ 3-axis mill: 10 years (Required) Work Location: In person
