Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship."We're looking for a Software Release Engineer to support our software release process by validating software through hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and simulation testing prior to in-vehicle deployment. You'll work closely with engineering and vehicle operations teams to evaluate software quality, investigate regressions, and help ensure safe, reliable software releases. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across complex testing environments, simulation tools, and cross-functional engineering teams.What You'll DoExecute hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and simulation testing to validate software releases before in-vehicle testingSupport the development, curation, and evaluation of HIL driving scenarios, with an emphasis on night-run scenarios used to validate software releasesProvide technical support for vehicle-based validation testing to facilitate the rollout of pre-release software into new operational design domains (ODDs) and public roadwaysMaintain and improve the HIL testing pipeline to support software release activitiesEnsure release testing is completed successfully, review test results for accuracy, and coordinate with vehicle operations teams to support on-road testingIdentify software regressions against established thresholds and support regression investigationsCommunicate testing results, failures, risks, and delays to cross-functional stakeholdersTravel domestically as neededDaily Focus Areas (Approximate Time Allocation)Driving scenario curation & evaluation (night runs emphasis) — 40%HIL / simulation test execution & release grading — 15%Vehicle-based validation testing support (new ODDs / public roadways) — 15%HIL testing pipeline maintenance & upgrades — 15%Release operations support (test completion, regression ID, escalation) — 15%Required QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field highly preferred3+ years of relevant work experienceProven track record of HIL bench or simulation testing experienceAbility to analyze complex streams of information (logs, video files, sensor data) to triage and identify issues found during autonomous vehicle drivesAbility to operate effectively across multiple teams and navigate technical ambiguity within assigned tasksExperience with GitSome domestic travel requiredNice to HaveExperience with simulation tools such as Foxglove Studio, SUMO, or similarExperience with ASPICEPython programming skills
