Job Summary: We are currently seeking a skilled Van Building Technician (Tech 2) to join our team at The Vansmith. This role is ideal for someone with some years of experience in van, RV, or custom vehicle building who thrives on precision and craftsmanship. The Tech 2 focuses on installing and integrating systems inside the van — installation, connection, testing, and fine-tuned installation work. Responsibilities: Install, align, and secure cabinetry, galleys, and interior trim to tight tolerances. Fit, seal, and install A/C units, fans, and windows with attention to accuracy and waterproofing. Install and connect all van systems, including electrical devices, plumbing, and accessories. Measure, cut, and fit flooring, wall panels, and ceilings with high accuracy. Test and verify functionality of electrical, water, and other systems to ensure full operation. Diagnose and resolve minor issues during installation and testing. Maintain a clean and organized workspace throughout the build. Attributes: Strong focus and attention to detail; high standards for finish quality. Ability to follow build drawings, SOPs, and direction from senior technicians. Solid understanding of how systems connect and function within a van build. Capable of problem-solving and making clean, efficient adjustments. Comfortable using hand tools and power tools with precision. Works well independently and as part of a team. Education and Experience: 2–4 years of experience ideally in van, RV, marine, or custom vehicle construction required. Proficiency with cabinetry, and system installation. Experience with electrical or plumbing connections preferred. On-the-job guidance will be provided to align with Vansmith standards. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds at a time. Comfortable working on ladders and performing overhead tasks.
