Working collaboratively with providers, leadership, staff, and technology partners, the Senior Clinical Informatics & Data Specialist transforms data into actionable insights, improves workflows and system efficiencies, supports regulatory compliance and security initiatives, and enhances the overall delivery of patient care.The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about leveraging healthcare technology and data to support innovation, informed decision-making, and continuous improvement across Health Services.What does a Senior Clinical Informatics & Data Specialist do? Manages and maintains all clinical and administrative information systems utilized by Health Services and recommends methods, defining and utilizing data collection processes and interpretation of data to improve quality and efficiencies. Provides analytical and technical support to Health Services managers and staff including but not limited to information system updates and upgrades. Position will maintain ongoing documentation of issues and changes to production system including review and approval of change controls. Will work with staff, administrative and clinical to develop and maintain workflows, screens, and reports. Will serve as a liaison between Health Services staff and all vendors Maintains system security; monitors system access (both physical and electronic), manages user passwords and access codes, assigns user privileges and takes other measures as appropriate to prevent unauthorized access into the system. Maintains, updates and distributes user manuals for all systems packages. Assists in the implementation of new software/systems as needed. Maintains the integrity, validity, and accuracy of the databases including the NextGen and its applications. Obtains within 90 days of employment and maintains NextGen certification re-certifying every two years. Serves as the Health Services HIPAA Security Officer, responsible for training all staff on security of the system and processes, and reports all incidents to ONE Information Security office. Serves as the process owner for all activities related to the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of patient, provider, employee and Health Service business information in compliance with Oneida Indian Nation’s security policies and procedures as well as federal rules and regulations. Development of policies and procedures that relate to information systems applications in collaboration with ONE Information Security office. Creates and generates reports from the system as needed or requested, data mining, interpreting data. Ensures that data exports and transmissions are completed on a timely basis. Ensures that all new users are properly trained on all systems in order to perform their jobs; provides ongoing training to all staff on the efficient use of software applications and upgrades. Ensures that all staff receive notification of computer confidentiality guidelines; obtains employee signatures on applicable confidentiality forms upon hiring and on an annual basis thereafter. Adheres to all Oneida Indian Nation Health Services Security and Confidentiality policies and procedures in regards to all daily job functions and receives annual update training regarding each area.Who We AreWe are Turning Stone Enterprises, a dynamic organization with a diverse range of business operations. Beyond gaming and hospitality, our portfolio also includes convenience stores, three 18 hole PGA-level golf courses, and other unique ventures.Work ExperienceTo be successful as a Senior Clinical Informatics & Data Specialist, you'll need: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Health Sciences or related field. 2-3 years’ experience maintaining and supporting an integrated patient management system/EHR or similar software system in a clinical setting including administrative systems. Strong background in defining, collecting, utilizing and interpreting data with strong attention to detail Considerable knowledge of clinical protocols and identification of information products to facilitate methods for analyzing data. Strong communication skills and previous experience with training end users and collaborating effectively with Health Services team. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
