Travel RN - Cardiovascular ICU

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiothoracic ICU position in Chapel Hill, NC, requiring an active NC or compact RN license and ACLS certification for a night shift contract.Job Details• 40-bed Cardiothoracic ICU within a large academic medical center's cardiovascular and thoracic critical care program,• Patient population includes post-surgical cases such as coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), heart and lung transplants, LVAD, ECMO, aortic/thoracic aneurysm repairs, heart valve repair and replacement, and complex esophageal, thoracic, and vascular surgeries,• Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week),• Every other weekend (EOW) required,• Every other holiday (EOH) required,• No on-call responsibilities,Job Requirements• Active RN license in the state of North Carolina or a compact RN license currently in hand,• Current certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC) and ACLS required,• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required,• Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited school of nursing required; BSN or MSN preferred,• Experience in a cardiovascular or thoracic ICU setting strongly applicable given patient population,Additional Information• Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation,• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to address complex patient care needs, discharge planning, and patient/family education,• Two professional references required for consideration,• Background check and drug screen required; candidates should be prepared to report to the lab for drug screening within 24 hours of committing to the position
