FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

We are looking to add a Field Service Technician to our team in Colquitt, GA who independently performs complex on-site diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf/construction and forestry equipment.Position Specifics:Department: ServiceReports to: Service Manager, Road Tech Manager or Shop ForemanSupervises: NoneJob Status: Non - ExemptEssential Functions:Performs complex on-site diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf/construction and forestry equipment and established productsParticipates in Service EDUCATE Training programsSupports customer clinicsReviews and explains any maintenance, repair or other service concerns directly with the customer and documents on work orderMay promote and sell dealer service programs directly to customersMay establish and implement effective stocking processes with the Parts Department to maintain the proper seasonal parts inventory in the vehicleMaintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive productsMaintains condition of mobile service vehicle, trailer, inventory, tools and equipmentMaintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashionFollows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignmentsCompletes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignmentsAccounts for all time on a time card and for all material used in performing assigned dutiesExperience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:4+ years of experience performing service repairsOutstanding interpersonal and customer service skillsAbility to perform complex repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual proceduresExpert knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf/construction and forestry equipmentAbility to use Service Advisor and basic computer functionsAbility to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposesProficient oral and written communication skillsAbility to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedlyAdvanced or Master Service Technician certification preferredHigh School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferredValid driver's license is required; CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred; driving record must meet CDL and company driving requirementsFork lift license preferredOther Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
