Facilitator

Job Title: Facilitator (Public Sector)Location: Hybrid – Local candidates only (DMV area)Schedule: 30 hours/weekJob Description:We are seeking a highly experienced Facilitator responsible for planning, conducting, and managing meetings to ensure they are productive and focused. This role involves setting agendas, guiding discussions, and ensuring all participants are engaged and objectives are met. It requires a deep understanding of business principles, coupled with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels.Key Responsibilities:PreparationCoordinate with meeting organizers to understand objectives and prepare agendasEnsure all necessary materials and equipment are available and functionalDistribute agendas and pre-meeting materials to participants in advanceMeeting FacilitationServe as the master of ceremoniesGuide discussions to keep meetings on track and ensure all agenda items are coveredEncourage participation from all attendees and manage group dynamicsAddress conflicts and ensure all viewpoints are heard and consideredFollow-UpSummarize key discussion points, decisions, and action itemsDistribute meeting minutes or summaries to participants promptlyTrack progress on action items and follow up as neededEvaluationGather feedback from participants to assess meeting effectivenessContinuously improve facilitation techniques based on feedback and experienceQualifications:Minimum 10+ years of experience as a meeting facilitator in the public sectorExtensive experience providing consulting services to governmental entities or within a related field of specializationExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levelsExperience designing public "town hall" style meetings and other convenings on public policy issuesExperience working with diverse audiencesStrong public speaking skills and a compelling presenceStrong conflict resolution skillsExperience in state or local government preferredEducation:Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or higher preferred
