Special Education Teacher - Duncan, SC

Seeking a Special Education Teacher for an Elementary School setting, specializing in 3rd-5th grade self-contained classrooms. This contract position is located near Duncan, SC, approximately 30 minutes from Greenville. The role involves supporting a small group of 9 students with 2 paraprofessionals, making it ideal for educators experienced in creating individualized learning plans and fostering inclusive environments.Key Responsibilities:Deliver specialized instruction tailored to diverse learning needs of 3rd to 5th grade students in a self-contained special education classroomCollaborate effectively with paraprofessionals, parents, and administration to support student growth and developmentDevelop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with legal and educational standardsMonitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet evolving needsQualifications and Desired Experience:Valid Special Education teaching certification or licensureExperience working with elementary-aged students in self-contained classroomsStrong knowledge of special education laws and instructional strategiesAbility to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary teamWillingness to relocate or work remotely if outside of the local areaLocation: This position serves an elementary school approximately 30 minutes from Greenville, SC, in Duncan.
