Lead Setter

Job Summary Right Angle Engineering is a structural engineering firm growing faster than our calendar can keep up with. We send out emails to potential clients, and once they've gotten a couple touches from us, it's your job to pick up the phone, call them, and get a meeting set on the calendar for one of our team members to take it from there. Let's be straight with you: this is cold calling. You'll be the first live voice most of these people hear from us. Your only goal on the call is simple: get them to say yes to a meeting. You don't have to close the deal or handle the sales conversation, that's someone else's job. Yours is just to get the meeting booked. Pay: hourly, $18 to $26 per hour depending on experience, plus $50 for every meeting that is actually taken by our team. This is meeting-taken pay, not just meeting-booked pay, so the better you are at setting real, qualified meetings that show up, the more you'll earn on top of your hourly rate. School schedule? No problem. This role is genuinely flexible around classes. We'd rather build a schedule around you than lose a good caller because of a class conflict. What you'll actually be doing: Calling prospects who've already seen a few of our emails. You're not starting completely cold, but you are the one doing the convincing Introducing yourself and Right Angle clearly and confidently, just enough to earn the meeting Booking meetings directly onto a team member's calendar Keeping our CRM up to date so nothing falls through the cracks (we'll train you on it, no prior CRM experience required) Handling pushback and objections without missing a beat Following up when someone says "call me back later," and actually calling them back What makes someone great at this: You don't take "no" personally. You shake it off and dial the next number You can build quick rapport with a total stranger in the first ten seconds of a call You're organized enough to keep track of who you called, what they said, and when to follow up Previous cold calling, telemarketing, appointment setting, or phone sales experience is a big plus, but we care more about attitude than resume lines Comfortable with basic computer/CRM use (again, we'll train you) Why you'd want to work here: We're a growing company, which means real room to move up if you're good at this and want more You'll get a clear script and process on day one, so you're never guessing what to say Small team, no corporate red tape. You'll actually know the people you work with Flexible scheduling built around school, whatever that looks like for you Fully stocked kitchen, because nobody does their best work hungry Real game breaks. Most of the team steps away for a scooter ride around the building or a quick round of Super Smash Bros to reset between calls This is a great fit if you're resilient, like talking to people, and want to get good at the front end of sales without carrying a full sales quota. This probably isn't for you if you want a desk job with no rejection and no phone. Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour Benefits: Flexible schedule Work Location: In person
