Additionally, this role drives data collection, reporting and analysis.ResponsibilitiesInspect samples per documented specificationsRecord inspection resultsFollow inspection procedures to measure engineering requirementsCoordinate the flow of inspection samples based on priorityAnalyze data to determine trends in inspection historyPerform inspections using mechanical gauging as required Diagnose minor issues and adjust CMM programs to run partsDevelop inspection procedures to measure engineering requirementsLead Advance Gauge R&R studiesLead employee quality training programs and communicationsTrain and mentor lab personnel on techniques for the CMMUtilize bridge and portable CMMs (Romer Arm, Faro Arm, etc)Proactively engage in the process to assist in ensuring processes are continually effectiveConvert PPAP programs to Receiving Inspection programsCreating custom programs from existing programsIdentify appropriate gauging needed to measure engineering drawing requirementsVisually identify sample statusAssist in cost reduction opportunities and design change suggestionsAddressing Non-Conformance Identify and contain nonconforming materialCreate and communicate Nonconforming Material ReportsIdentify Corrective Action OpportunitiesIdentify and communicate Engineering Change Request (ECT) opportunitiesSupport Department InitiativesInvestigate, document and resolve minor issues related to the CMM Support cross-functional team projectsIdentify quality improvements, cost reduction opportunities, and design change suggestionsRequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED) Minimum 1 year experience operating a CMMMinimum 1 year experience utilizing a variety of mechanical gaging or comparable manufacturing experienceProficient at reading drawingsAdditional RequirementsKnowledge / Skills / AbilitiesStrong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency in measuring components and reportingAbility to work independently and as a teamStrong analytical skillsEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to train other and modify training to accommodate learning preferencesDemonstrated ability to interpret drawing specificationsExperience with Production Part Approval Process (PAPP)Ability to use Microsoft Office SuiteDemonstrated problem solving skillsLevel Of IndependenceThis position act under the direction of the Quality Supervisor or ManagerPhysical Requirements And Working ConditionsProduction Environment (Includes professionals who are active on the shop floor):While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in the typical conditions of a manufacturing environment, including seasonal variations in temperatures and occasional exposure to manufacturing fumes or by-products. The employee must comply with the assigned location PPE requirements, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing, and shields for required tasks, and closed-toed or safety shoes as required by facility safety policies.
