Apply today for an interview!Basic Functions (or Position Summary)Set up and operate computer numerical controlled (CNC) Press Brake machine.Makes adjustments to adhere to established specifications or to correct faulty programming and/or equipment performance. Makes adjustments to adhere to established product specifications and monitors work to ensure that machine is performing properly. Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesMust be mechanically minded and willing to be cross-trained in a variety of fabrication functions and operating software.Responsible for the set-up, basic maintenance, operation of equipment in the press brake. OrganizationExperienced in reading and understanding manufacturing prints Use measurement tools such as calipers, protractors, and tape measures to confirm part dimensions against drawingsHave an understanding of manufacturing tolerancesUnderstand and apply basic sheet metal forming fundamentalsUnderstanding the relation between a press-brake tool and the bend radius it will create Be able to set up a pre-existing program to form the partBe able to make adjustments to the program to meet required dimensions/anglesBe trained to utilize our planning software (INFOR) for reporting, investigating, and seeing the schedule for partsResponsible for inspecting quality of raw material for fabrication of component. Responsible for an Organized work area Equipment and OperationPerforms Equipment Setup Will follow facility and equipment safety practices during setup. Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine within capabilities. Reports all machine malfunctions to Management.Machine Operations Completes and follows all required safety procedures during equipment operations. Able to motivate self during routine and tasks. Perform in process checks to maintain, and adhere to, all required tolerances and quality requirements. Maintain clean equipment during operations. Part/Component Responsible for deburring and inspection of parts to assure conformance. Stacks completed parts properly on blocks or pallet to eliminate double handling and work efficiently. Performs safety checks and follows equipment safety procedures when completing part/component run.CommunicationCommunicates all production related items to Production Supervisor.Communicates with management, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.Marginal position functions that are not included among the essential duties and responsibilities in this position description are also requirements of this position.This position requires regular on-time attendance as outlined by Human Resources or your supervisor(s). The position also requires the ability to work independently or in a team setting. You will be expected to accept direction from your supervisor, management and subordinate personnel and to work amicably and productively with co-workers.Supervisory Responsibilities: NoneYou will be expected to accept direction from your supervisor, management and subordinate personnel and to work amicably and productively with co-workers.RequirementsAdditional Position Information/Details:Mechanical SkillsMechanically minded and willing to be cross-trained in a variety of Fabrication functions.Ability to use and read measuring instruments (i.e. Calipers, measuring tape, etc.)Able to read and interpret part drawings.Math SkillsRequires good math skills to understand and process complex work instructionsProblem-Solving SkillsDetermine methods to increase output and fix errors.Keen attention to detail is required.Continuously keep a focus on part precision to avoid critical errors with components.Key QualitiesMust be dependable, accurate, customer oriented, and possess a strong work ethic.Consistently puts forth exceptional effort, works efficiently and is able to keep up with assigned work load.Ability to motivate self and others to achieve the company’s goals on safety, quality, productivity, and customer service.Basic written and verbal communications skills are required.Education And ExperienceEducation: HS Diploma or equivalentExperience6 months experience in a machine shopPreferred Experienced in operating a press-brake (hydraulic or Electrical) Safan-Darley/LVDPhysical DemandsPreferred Forklift experience, but not required.Must be able to lift 50 pounds.Stamina: Press brake operators often work long hours doing repetitive movements.The physical demands described here and above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
