Fire Sprinkler Test & Inspection Technician

Primary ResponsibiltiesWork with the Sprinkler Fitter team to expand your knowledge and skill in the mechanics of sprinkler systemsDocument fire sprinkler systems in the Building Reports platform by use of handheld device as well as documentation of related device(s) associated to fire sprinkler systemsInteract with customers in a mature and professional mannerEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesTesting of fire sprinkler systems including but not limited to wet, dry and pre-action fire sprinkler system(s) per NFPA standardsAble to work unsupervised and perform to a high standard of workmanshipBasic knowledge in the operation of hand and power tools common to the tradeContinually update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading trade publications as well as related code documentation such as NFPA, NAFED and NFSA materialsMaintain knowledge of current industry standards and new technologiesMaintain a clean and safe work area, including company vehicle, and must adhere to company safety policies and proceduresQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrefer 2 years of related experience in Fire Sprinkler inspections. However, will train the right personWorking knowledge of Fire Sprinkler SystemsExperience in the service and testing of suppression systems and backflow prevention devicesExperience working with hand/power tools requiredState of Oregon backflow testing certificateAbility to read and understand Applicable code requirementsValid state issue Driver's License with acceptable driving recordCommunicate well with co-workersSelf-motivated, dependable, reliable and able to work independently and within a teamPositive attitude with good work ethicMust be able to lift 50 pounds.Frequently lift and carry toolboxes, equipment, parts and toolsFrequently climb a ladderWalking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, and raising hands overheadDriving is required and drive time may vary.
