Ironworker: Level 2

Ironworker (Level 2)Location: Logansport / Lafayette, Indiana Position Type: Full-Time / Year-Round Wage: Up to $28/hr Job Summary: We are seeking dependable and experienced Ironworkers to join our team to support onsite construction. This role requires strong knowledge of assembling, installing and securing structural steel components for commercial and industrial metal buildings. Proficiencies: Level 2 Ironworkers must be proficient in the items below. 1. Level 1 Ironworker proficiencies 2. Primary Steel Erection (frames and bracing) 3. Secondary Steel (girts and purlins) 4. Framing Miscellaneous Openings (doors, OH doors, etc.) 5. Metal Siding (exposed and concealed fastener) 6. Exposed Fastener Roofing 7. Insulated Metal Panels 8. MR-24 Panel Installation 9. Basic Print Reading 10. Construction Math 11. Telehandler Certification Key Responsibilities: 1. Read and interpret blueprints, plans and drawings to determine specifications and job requirements. 2. Measure / cut steel components according to project plans. 3. Erect and bolt together steel frames, beams, and columns using cranes, rigging gear and hand tools. 4. Install metal decking, joists and other structural or reinforcing steel elements. 5. Work at heights using a harness/lanyard and fall protection equipment. 6. Maintain a clean and safe job site by following OSHA, SCI and client specific safety regulations and policies. 7. Ability to read and understand signage, safety notices, SDS, product warnings and directions, etc. 8. Able to choose and use proper PPE Position Requirements: 1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred 2. Valid driver's license 3. Reliable transportation 4. Ability to travel to jobsite, up to one hour 5. Punctuality 6. Strong work ethic and attention to detail 7. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including various weather conditions 8. Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus Physical Requirements: 1. Ability to stand, squat, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, walk, push, pull, crouch and crawl for long periods of time 2. Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding 3. Work at heights (in lifts and on roofs) 4. Don and wear a harness and lanyard 5. Work while stooping over 6. Work on hands and knees 7. Stand for extended periods 8. Walk for extended periods 9. Have dexterity to operate hand and power tools and handle materials 10. Work with arms overhead 11. Ability to wear a respirator (to be fit tested by employer) 12. Ability to lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis Working Conditions: 1. Indoor / outdoor construction environments 2. Exposure to loud noise, high elevations, extreme temperatures, and hazardous materials 3. May involve heights, confined spaces and heavy equipment 4. SCI and client specific PPE (personal protective equipment) required
