If analog circuits, precision measurement, and sensor signal chains sound interesting to you, this is a role worth considering.About the RoleWe are in the middle of an active product development program and are expanding our pyroelectric detector platform into a new digital product family.The goal is to integrate Eltec’s instrumentation-grade lithium tantalate detector technology with analog front-end circuitry, digital signal processing, and a standard I²C interface so our detectors can connect more easily to modern embedded systems.This work spans analog front-end design, detector characterization, PCB layout for constrained form factors, thermal validation inside sealed metal packages, and digital interface bring-up.We are hiring for multiple levels — from summer interns to entry-level or experienced electrical engineers.What You’ll Work OnDesign, build, and test analog front-end circuits for pyroelectric infrared detectorsSet up measurement rigs and characterize detector performance, including responsivity, noise spectral density, NEP, and D*Contribute to PCB schematic capture and layout for compact mixed-signal detector electronicsConfigure and bring up digital interface circuitry, including I²C-based ADCs and embedded signal acquisitionWrite Python scripts to automate register configuration, data collection, and signal analysisTroubleshoot analog and mixed-signal circuits at the board levelDocument findings in clear engineering reports and maintain design recordsFull-time engineers will take on increasing ownership over characterization plans, PCB revision cycles, test methods, and product-level design decisions.Internship Track — Summer, PaidIdeal candidates will have:Currently pursuing a B.S. in Electrical Engineering; rising junior or senior preferredCoursework in analog circuits, signals and systems, electronics lab, or embedded systemsComfortable using basic lab instrumentation: oscilloscope, DMM, function generator, and power supplySome exposure to a schematic or PCB design toolExperience with at least one technical computing or scripting tool such as Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEWMinimum 3.0 GPA preferred; strong hands-on projects will be considered alongside GPAFull-Time Track — Experienced Ideal candidates will have:B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related fieldHands-on background in analog circuit design, sensor characterization, embedded systems, or precision measurementWorking proficiency with PCB design tools; Altium experience is preferredAbility to own a measurement task end-to-end: setup, data collection, analysis, troubleshooting, and documentationExperience with low-noise design, mixed-signal circuits, precision instrumentation, or sensor interfaces is a strong plusNice to Have — Both TracksExperience with transimpedance amplifiers, charge amplifiers, lock-in detection, or chopped/pulsed signal conditioningFamiliarity with standard digital communication protocols such as I²CExposure to infrared sensing, photonics, optics, or detector physicsExperience debugging real hardware Why EltecWork on mission-critical technology Learn real-world analog and sensor engineering challenges Learn from engineers with decades of experience in detector design, precision measurement, and infrared sensingJoin a small team where your contributions are visible, your questions get answered quickly, and your work can make it into a real productDaytona Beach, FL — competitive compensation, reasonable cost of living, and the Atlantic Ocean nearbyTo ApplySend your resume to jobs@eltecinstruments.com along with a brief note describing a circuit you have built, a measurement problem you have solved, or a hands-on engineering project you are proud of.Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
