Job detailsTemporary Accounts Payable Specialist - 6+ month contractLocation: Duluth, MN | 100% OnsiteSalary: $24/hrDuration: Contract 6-Month Contract (Extension Possible)We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join a fast-paced team in Duluth, MN. This is a high-volume environment supporting invoice processing and reconciliation efforts, with an immediate need for someone who can jump in, stay organized, and help clean up backlog.This role is ideal for someone with strong AP experience, excellent Excel skills, and a proactive mindset who enjoys digging into discrepancies and resolving issues.ScheduleMonday-Friday8:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PMTwo 15-minute breaks100% onsiteKey ResponsibilitiesProcess a high volume of invoicesPerform 3-way matching (PO and non-PO invoices - approx. 60/40 split)Review invoices for accuracy, approvals, and proper documentationHandle invoice discrepancies, research issues, and follow up for resolutionReconcile vendor statements and correct discrepanciesAssist with wire transfers and payment processingSupport weekly check runsCommunicate with vendors and internal teams (including supply chain) to resolve issuesMaintain accurate records and ensure timely processingQualifications1-2+ years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably in a high-volume environmentStrong experience with invoice processing, reconciliation, and discrepancy resolutionExperience with 3-way matchingComfortable working with ERP systems (Avante or AS400-type systems a plus)Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUPs required)Strong data entry and typing skills (60-65 WPM preferred)Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsWillingness to make vendor calls and follow up on outstanding itemsAdditional DetailsTeam environment: Currently a team of 4+Contract Length: 6 months with strong potential for extensionNo immediate plans for permanent conversion, but subject to changeInterview Process: Initial Teams interview followed by onsite interviewThis is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in high-volume AP environments and enjoys digging into data, resolving discrepancies, and keeping processes moving efficiently.
