About the Position Indian Valley Boys & Girls Club is seeking motivated and energetic people to join our team. This position will be responsible for planning and implementing activities for children as well as supervising gamesroom areas after school year day. The ideal candidate will have an interest in working with children and a desire to make a meaningful impact on children's lives. Hours will be M-F between 3:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. with occasional later evenings for special events. This position begins in mid-September and runs through June. Responsibilities for an After School Activity leader include, but are not limited to, implementing fun and creative lessons in specific program areas such as arts and crafts, STEM, and the gym, maintaining a safe environment for our children during free time and embracing the Club’s fun themed events through planned activities. Being reliable and able to build good relationships with children are two essential traits for this position. If you’re patient, and energetic but strict when needed, we’d like to meet you. Responsibilities Plan and/or execute art, leadership or STEM activities and sports for groups of members Lead recreational and educational activities Escort and oversee children throughout activity sessions Educate members through games and explorations Set up and maintain equipment Resolve occasional conflicts between children and address behavioral issues Make sure all safety rules are followed Ensure the site is clean Keep accurate incident logs and communicate with supervisors Participate in daily cleaning and building maintenance Develop relationships with members and make sure every Club member has fun Skills Proven experience working with children preferred Familiarity with children’s games and activities Patient and reliable Organizational and communication skills A love for children Energetic and positive personality Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (strength and stamina to follow activities like playing games daily and helping with daily cleaning procedures) An After School Activity leader will be part of our team for the duration of the school year at the Indian Valley Boys & Girls Club. Additionally: Must be able to pass the PA criminal and child abuse background checks as well as national criminal and child abuse background checks. Job Type: Part-time Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour Schedule: After school Monday to Friday Work Location: In person
