Details Med/Surg Stepdown unit in a hospital setting Patient population includes cardiac and stroke patients requiring stepdown-level monitoring Strong IV skills and experience managing cardiac drips required Experience reading EKG strips and performing all types of wound care is essential Floating to Med/Surg is required Every other weekend and holiday coverage required Requirements Active New York State (NYS) RN license required Current BLS and ACLS certifications required NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required prior to start Minimum 2 years of current Med/Surg Stepdown nursing experience required Proficiency with IV insertion and management, cardiac drips, EKG interpretation, and wound care Travel nursing experience preferred Two supervisor references required for consideration — one within the past year and one within the past two years Additional Information An additional 8 hours of CEUs must be completed as part of facility orientation Skills checklist for the Med/Surg Stepdown specialty, completed within the past year, is required for consideration American Traveler Job ID #P- .
