We are mechanical shop that repairs, restores, refurbishes and provides Engineering upgrades to such rolls. The Engineering Intern assists in planning, researching, developing and implementing solutions for the shop floor or engineering projects.ResponsibilitiesOperations Excellence projects: Concept development and designPrototyping (if project allows it)Supplier sourcing and quotingSupplier selectionOrder Material and componentsProvide work order and design for fabrication if requiredProof of conceptExecute improvements and correctionsImplementationIntegral Management Systems Assists in the creation of Work Instructions, Job Safety Analysis, Risk assessments, other documentation required by the IMSAssist on updating communication boardsEngineering Assist engineers in creation/modification of CAD drawingsAssist engineers in cost reduction activitiesAssist engineers in part procurementParticipation in engineering process improvement activitiesQualifications –Engineering major, minimum GPA 3, junior / seniorProficient with computers applications MS Office suite, CAD, including electronic document control and distributionExperience with Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and ErgonomicsExceptional multi-tasking skills and ability to independently manage multiple tasks.Strong verbal and written communication skillsPhysical Demands -While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand for an extended amount of time, walk and reach with hands and arms. Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
