Supervisor, Theatrical Localization (US)
This role is responsible for helping to coordinate (with the guidance of the Head of Theatrical Subtitling) the production and through put of subtitle projects within the Digital Cinema theatrical subtitling team here at EIKON. This person will be working directly on high profile theatrical based content and be required to accurately output elements based on client need and specifications. As a supervisor this employee will also help to coordinate localized training, troubleshooting, and mentoring of other newer subtitle team members. In this position it will be the responsibility of this person to also help answer specific either client or account team members questions within the Digital Cinema theatrical localization ecosystem.Primary Responsibilities:Providing training and feedback to new starters and to existing staff as requirements and processes evolveCoordinating with the department management team to best utilize resource need (allocation of operator and equipment resources)Engaging with client account team members to help trouble shoot and derive solutions to immediate items of concernCreating and handling subtitle language version projects for theatrical / digital cinema workflows (inclusive of 3D stereoscopic subtitle projects)Creating, updating and quality checking master templates for multi-language projectsCoordinating production work on designated subtitle projects for theatrical feature and trailer workReviewing subtitle files in various languages against video for quality control, editing and error reportingChecking updated versions and tracking required changesExporting reports, proofs and final files for delivery internally and externallyReformatting files to client or internal specificationsProblem-solving linguistic, technical and workflow issuesLiaising and collaborating with internal departmentsContributing to creating and updating reference documents for internal resourcesAs a supervisor this list is not all inclusive, and may be adjusted as neededStrategy and Technical Development:Keep up to date with industry developments, tools and techniques.Quarterly discussions with department management team to discuss ongoing growth, employee engagement, and specific areas of focus within workflows and technology.Develop skills and knowledge in other disciplines to enhance overall understanding of industry practices. Including, but not limited to, streaming, broadcast, and post-production processes and services, commonly used software etc.Project Planning, Maintenance and Delivery:Completion of ad-hoc project work as specified by your manager.Willingness and capability to troubleshoot complex problems.Project tracking and delivery through our in-house systems.Ensure that work is delivered to EIKON's global standards, on time with quality and precision at scale.Skills and Attributes:Extensive hands-on subtitling QC experience in digital cinemaExcellent knowledge of the factors that affect subtitle quality and viewer experienceBroad experience of subtitling processes, requirements and toolsA good understanding of digital cinema post-production processesConfidence to communicate effectively and diplomatically to colleagues at all levelsMethodical, with superlative attention to detail and ability to maintain focusGood time-management and confidence to work independentlyOrganized, adaptable and quick to react to shifting prioritiesPatience and flexibility in dynamic and high-pressure situationsA positive and mature attitude to hard work within a teamAn affinity for picking up new processes and softwareA willingness to identify and anticipate problems and offer solutionsProfessional level fluency in English and familiarity with other languagesA passion for film, TV and post-productionMust be able to work flexible hours during busy periodsMinimum QualificationsRight to work in the USThe role will be based in EIKON (2777 N Ontario St Suite 180, Burbank).Working hours are set from 10am to 7pm however the candidate should be willing to work outside of these hours based on business requirements.
