Lead CAE Engineer - Vehicle Dynamics and Simulation (Full Benefits Package)
Akkodis is seeking a Senior Lead CAE Engineer for a full-time role on our dedicated team for the next several years in the Columbus Metropolitan area. You'll be responsible as the on-site lead to support a high-priority vehicle development program. This role is critical in delivering vehicle dynamics simulations and model development ahead of key validation events—prior to the physical prototype availability. This individual will act as the technical lead on-site, working closely with the internal engineering teams while coordinating potential offshore resources. Program focuses include: Timely delivery of simulation models and results; Accuracy and reliability of models; Ability to scale output (volume of simulations); Effective coordination of any extended team. This position is critical to enabling vehicle validation before prototypes exist, making CAE the primary tool for decision-making. The qualified candidate will possesses Vehicle Dynamics and Simulation expertise and perform a central role in ensuring our program success under tight timelines and evolving requirements.Starting Pay Range: Up to $135,000/yr (salary commensurate based on experience and education levels).Senior Lead CAE Engineer job responsibilities includeDevelop and expand full vehicle dynamics models across multiple platforms and variants.Build, modify, and maintain models using CarSim / CarMaker, Simpack, AMESim, MATLAB, and Adams.Run large-scale simulation studies to validate vehicle performance against requirements.Support simulation of Ride & Handling, Steering & Braking, and Chassis Control Systems.Validation & ReportingValidate models against defined engineering requirements.Analyze simulation outputs and generate clear technical reports.Present findings to internal engineering stakeholders.Ensure models are production-quality and reusable for future development.Change ManagementContinuously update models based on frequent design changes.Adapt quickly in a fast-paced, evolving development environment.Maintain alignment with shifting specifications and requirements.On-Site Leadership & CoordinationServe as the primary on-site CAE expert.Work directly with Japanese OEM engineering team on a daily basis.Coordinate and guide offshore/remote engineering resources.Help prioritize work, delegate tasks, and ensure delivery timelines are met.Process Improvement & ExpertiseRecommend improvements in modeling efficiency, simulation workflows, and best practices.Contribute to internal R&D initiatives around CAE optimization.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred.Greater than 8+ years of professional CAE experience and vehicle dynamics simulation.Strong expertise in Simpack and/or CarSim and multibody dynamics modeling.Experience with full vehicle system modeling across multiple variants.Proven ability to run and interpret complex simulation studies.Strong understanding of chassis systems and vehicle dynamics (ride, handling, braking, steering).Preferred:Experience with Simcenter AMESim, MATLAB, Adams.Automotive OEM or Tier 1 experience.Prior experience working in hybrid onshore/offshore delivery models.Experience leading or mentoring engineers for onshore/offshore teams.If you are interested in the Senior Lead CAE Engineer role, please click EASY APPLY.
