High School Social Studies Teacher (0.50 FTE)
Description: Mahomet-Seymour High School is seeking a qualified Social Studies teacher for a 0.50 FTE position beginning with the 20262027 school year. The ideal candidate will provide engaging instruction that promotes critical thinking, civic understanding, and student engagement. This position is part-time and will include a partial teaching schedule as assigned (3 sections per semester).ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver instruction aligned to Illinois Learning Standards for Social Studies.Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and engagement.Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.Assess student learning and use data to inform instruction.Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff.Support building and district initiatives.QualificationsValid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Social Science endorsement.Strong knowledge of high school social studies content and instructional practices.Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.Effective communication and organizational skills.Salary/Benefits: Please see the attached 2025-2026 Salary Schedule and summary of Employee Benefits.
