Job Title: Field Supervisor Job Type: Full-time direct hire Job Location: Washington, DC (Onsite) Salary: DoE Work Authorisation: US Citizen/GC Prefer local candidates. Would consider out of the area if exceptional Job Description What you will be doing? Oversees the project progress activities ongoing on site and pay special attention to the complexity; documenting and coordinating field service reports supplied to you by the field service team (to be trained for needs) Site supervision experience related to glazing, millwork products Tech savvy (excel, word, PDF report) Possessing an understanding of our product lines (granted through virtual training) in order to offer technical field support to the on-site installers. Orients, training if necessary, coaches, counseling, and communicates job expectations. Manages sub-contractors by monitoring and controlling the job progress; Meets operational standards by contributing job site information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing productivity and quality; Accomplishes construction project results by respecting project scope; Conducting inspections at critical phases; and troubleshoots on site conditions with GC that may involve other trades that would affect our trade (rough carpentry, drywall, etc.) Attend site meetings to validate job site conditions and projected completion dates to achieve a successful installation. Communicate with project managers, engineers, clients, regulatory authorities and any other stakeholders necessary to achieve the project scope. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures to ensure safe working conditions Take field dimensions using lasers and proper procedures and protocols. (will supply basic tools) Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments Travel as required to west coast, sometimes during off-work hours. Punch list installers work and be proactive to resolve issues prior to client walk through Any other ad hoc tasks/responsibilities given by supervisor. Do you have what it takes? Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a similar position or related fields; Strong understanding of the interior construction of commercial buildings; Capability of reading technical drawings; Previous experience Architectural products, aluminum carpentry, wood costume cabinets, millwork, furniture design; Detail oriented, knowledge of using the table saw, planer, joiner, drill press, router, sanders and other hand tools and installation; High Driver - Ambitious, Results Orientated Go-getter. Self-Starter. Makes things happen; Must demonstrate leadership, spirit of initiative and a great motivation and excellent communication skills; A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally; Proficient with computers to write email, take pictures and do videos of the job site; Safety First Attitude; Safety equipment required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc; The ability to work independently with minimal supervision; Must have valid driver’s license; The ability to travel to the site and off-site frequently and be away from home for multiple weeks at a time; Experience in working in remote locations, able to travel and willing to work overtime This position is based in Washington DC, USA, however, the head office is in Montreal, Quebec.
