Job DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Massena, New York.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: Med Surg / TelemetryDiscipline: RNStart Date: 05/18/2026Duration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, daysEmployment Type: TravelAssignment OverviewShift: Days, 3x12hrsHours: 36 hrs/wkStart Date: May 18, 2026Length: 13 weeksOpenings: 1DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Massena, NY, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and an active NY RN license.DetailsMed/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital settingPatient population includes COPD, pneumonia, non-specific abdominal pain, cellulitis, chest pain rule-out, CVA, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawalPatient ratios: 1:6 on days, 1:7 on nights, and 1:8 on weekendsDay shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)Every other weekend (EOW) requiredEpic EMR experience required13-week contractRequirementsActive NY RN license requiredCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications requiredMinimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience requiredProficiency in telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmiasExperience with blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, and peripheral IV insertion and maintenanceExperience with BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and non-invasive airway managementFamiliarity with isolation precautions and PPE protocolsExperience utilizing Rapid Response and Code teams2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for considerationFull 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for considerationAdditional InformationFirst-time travelers will not be considered for this positionCandidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligibleAny color nursing uniform is acceptableAll time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial applicationAmerican Traveler Job ID #P-699964.
