Senior Full Stack Engineer

About the Role Takt Engineering is seeking a customer-facing Senior Fullstack Engineer on behalf of a client to rapidly design, build, and deploy early-stage software solutions. In this role, you will work directly with stakeholders to gather requirements and immediately translate them into secure, intuitive, and production-ready prototypes using modern AI-assisted development tools (such as Claude Code, Cursor, and agentic coding workflows) and automated delivery pipelines. This is a strong fit for a developer with a bias for action who is comfortable owning the full stack and iterating with users until the tool unblocks work. Job Responsibilities Engage and scope: Partner directly with users to understand business needs, uncover technical requirements, and define product scope. Design for usability: Own the UI/UX from the ground up, ensuring prototypes are highly intuitive, responsive, and easy to navigate for non-technical users without needing a dedicated designer. Rapid prototyping: Build and deploy responsive, secure web applications from scratch, taking them from concept to working prototype in days rather than months. Leverage agentic tools: Actively utilize cutting-edge AI coding agents and LLM APIs to accelerate development, scaffolding, and testing. Automate CI/CD: Establish lightweight, reliable CI/CD pipelines (such as GitHub Actions or CircleCI) to automate testing, security scanning, and deployments to shared cloud environments (AWS/EC2). Own the stack: Write clean, maintainable code across the front-end, back-end, and database, integrating applications with enterprise identity providers (SSO/Okta). Required Qualifications 5+ years of full-stack software engineering experience (Node.js/React or similar modern stacks). Outstanding communication skills with a proven track record of working directly with customers or internal business stakeholders. A strong eye for product design and user empathy, with a proven ability to build clean, functional, and user-friendly interfaces. Hands-on experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and cloud deployment. Experience with, or a strong passion for, modern AI-assisted engineering (agentic workflows, terminal-based AI tools, prompting patterns). A bias for action, a prototyping mindset, and the ability to deliver results independently in ambiguous environments. Must be a U.S. citizen. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with enterprise systems such as PLM, ERP, or MES platforms and the engineering and operations workflows they support. Experience working in FedRAMP, CUI, or DoD/military-regulated environments with security-first development practices. Familiarity with DISA STIGs and CUI handling is a plus, as is clearance eligibility. Job Details Duration: ~6 months Location: Costa Mesa, CA preferred.
