Founding Engineer
About DeepgridsDeepgrids is building the execution layer for enterprise revenue.Large companies have more software than ever, but much of the work required to move revenue forward is still manual. Information is fragmented across CRM, email, contracts, pricing systems, internal policies, and the people who understand how the business actually operates.Deepgrids connects that context and gives AI agents the ability to reason over it and take action across existing systems. The roleThis is our first engineering hire. Today the product is being built by our CTO, working with a fleet of coding agents. You'll be the second. There is no frontend team, backend team or platform team to hand things to. You'll take features from a blank file to production across the data layer, integrations, agent runtime, UI and infrastructure, and you'll make most of the calls yourself. We believe one ambitious, curious person with the right tools, budget and environment can do what used to take a team. We've built the company around that belief, and we're looking for someone who already works that way.How we buildAgents do most of the implementation. People do architecture, judgment and review. To make that concrete, here is our CTO's current setup: Claude Code and Codex CLI running in parallel across four git worktrees split by responsibility, each model assigned the kind of work it won in blind side by side comparisons, a separate cold reviewer agent on every diff, around ten MCP servers wired in (Linear, Sentry, Axiom, AWS, Playwright, docs), unattended sessions running overnight, and a five gate CI that everything passes before merge. You don't have to copy that. You set up your own environment and you own your monthly tools budget: models, subscriptions, compute, whatever helps you do your best work. We'd love to hear about the most capable environment you've worked in so far, and what you'd change about ours. The stackTypeScript monorepo (pnpm, Turborepo), Next.js App Router, Tailwind, shadcn/ui, tRPC, Zod, PostgreSQL with row level security, Vercel AI SDK, Inngest, WorkOS, AWS (ECS Fargate, RDS, Lambda) via SST, GitHub Actions, Sentry, Linear. SOC 2 is in progress, so security and auditability are part of the daily work.YouHave shipped something end to end in the last six months, mostly on your own, and can show it. A product, a tool, an agent system, an open source project. Rough work that shipped beats polished work that didn't.Use coding agents as your default way of working, and know where they fail. You read the diffs. Are current. MCP, A2A, agent harnesses, skills, evals, multi agent orchestration, context management: you've wired these up yourself and have opinions about which parts are hype. Are comfortable across our stack, or close enough to be productive within a couple of weeks.Have 2+ years shipping production software. If you have less and your recent work is exceptional, apply anyway.Startup experience is a plus. Are authorized to work in the US. We can't sponsor visas right now.Compensation $130k salary + founding level equityHiring processTwo conversations, 30 to 60 minutes each.Matthew, our CEO: the company, the market, and what you're looking for.Eshan, our CTO: you walk through the build you're most proud of, end to end. Why you built it, the decisions you made, what broke, what you'd change.Occasionally there's a third conversation. No leetcode, no whiteboard puzzles, no take home.To applyApply here on LinkedIn. Put a link to the thing you built (repo, live product or demo video) at the top of your resume, with a few lines on your current dev environment: models, harnesses, MCP servers, how you run your agents. The link matters more than the resume.
