Sequencing Lab Technician (NGS)

Our company is a small but rapidly growing start-up that focuses on Next Generation Sequencing of all genomes from viruses to human for a wide range of clinical, research and industrial labs. We emphasize a low cost of service mixed with an industry-leading turnaround time and aim to provide a more personal version of customer service than is found with our competitors. Accordingly, a qualified applicant will exhibit both an attention to detail and proficiency with large sample volumes, as well as an ability to communicate our findings to customers that are often less experienced with sequencing data. We have taken on many new partnerships and projects in the past year and look to continue with this trend, so this position would have a great amount of room to grow for the right candidate. Responsibilities Include: · Perform QC on incoming samples to include Qubit, qPCR and TapeStation measurements · Construct NGS libraries for the assigned pipeline, which may be whole genome, RNA, amplicon or SARS-CoV-2 · Operate Illumina, PacBio and/or ONT Sequencing platforms · Basic bioinformatic analysis and QC of sample data · Ensure accurate sample tracking logs from receipt to customer data distribution · Communicate with customers regarding sample issues and/or project goals Qualifications: · Minimum Bachelors in Biology, Chemistry or related field · Previous experience with NGS sequencing and/or sequencing data analysis · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills · Demonstrated ability to handle, process and evaluate NGS samples Job Type: Full-time Pay: $55,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Experience: Molecular biology: 1 year (Required) Work Location: In person
