General Labor 1st ShiftThis entry-level general labor role supports the preparation, assembly, and finishing of display window units in a clean, organized shop environment. You will perform a variety of hands-on tasks, including cleaning, basic assembly, minor painting, and assisting with shipping and receiving to ensure high-quality products are ready for shipment.ResponsibilitiesClean display windows thoroughly to ensure they are ready for shipment to customers.Use glass cleaner and other cleaning supplies to remove dust, fingerprints, and debris from windows and display units.Assemble various window display units using screw guns, cordless drills, and other hand and power tools.Bolt and fasten components securely to meet quality and safety standards.Use a tape measure for minor measurements to support accurate assembly and placement of parts.Perform minor painting and touch-up work on displays so they look neat and presentable before shipping.Assist with general shop tasks, including sanding, light carpentry-related work, and basic construction-style duties as needed.Support shipping and receiving operations by helping prepare products for packaging and shipment.Package display units and related materials to protect them during transportation.Handle materials and products safely, using team lifts for items over 50 lbs.Work independently or as part of a team of 78 people, depending on the task at hand.Follow all shop safety guidelines and use provided personal protective equipment appropriately.Maintain a strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset so finished products meet appearance and workmanship expectations.Commit to fulfilling the full contract duration of approximately 36 months.Be willing and available to work overtime when required to meet production and shipping deadlines.Essential SkillsStrong attention to detail and a quality-driven mindset to ensure displays look professional before shipment.Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools such as cordless drills, screw guns, wrenches, and similar equipment.Comfort working in a shop environment with tools, materials, and light construction-style tasks.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and participate in team lifts for heavier items.Willingness to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining consistency and accuracy.Reliability and commitment to complete a 36 month contract assignment.Basic familiarity with a cordless screwdriver or willingness to learn its use.Ability to follow directions, work safely, and meet production expectations.Availability to work required hours and overtime when needed.Additional Skills & Qualifications6+ months of shop experience, preferably in a wood shop environment, is a plus (including experience gained through home hobbies).Experience with painting, sanding, and general assembly tasks is beneficial.Experience in warehouse, construction, carpentry, or similar hands-on roles is an advantage.Comfort using tape measures for simple measurements.Familiarity with tools such as saws, nail guns, and other common shop equipment is helpful.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team of 78 people.Comfortable working around packaging and shipping operations.Why Work Here?You will work in an organized, well-structured shop environment that values quality workmanship and teamwork. You will work either independently or as part of a team of 78 people, depending on the task. Standard first-shift hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with extended hours often running from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. when production requires it. A second shift operates from 2:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday, with additional hours possible on Fridays. Overtime may be required based on workload and shipping deadlines. You will regularly use hand tools and power tools such as cordless drills, screw guns, nail guns, saws, and wrenches, as well as tape measures and other basic shop equipment. The dress code includes a t-shirt, jeans, and work boots or leather boots; tennis shoes are not permitted. Personal protective equipment is provided on the first day and must be worn as directed to maintain a safe working environment.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Afton, MN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
